It's that time of year when we're all dreaming about Summer Vacations; a little time off to rest, recharge and enjoy some warmer weather. Vacations (even stay-cations!) can improve your mood, outlook, and help you get back to your regular day-to-day feeling more energized. If stepping outside of your normal routine causes you any anxiety around how you'll handle your nutrition or exercise, here are some things to keep in mind so that you can truly enjoy your time off:

Remember that a week (or two) will not spoil your progress. It takes much longer than two weeks to build muscle or to reach a weight-loss goal, it'll take longer than that to lose your gains. Make a plan in advance to get back to your routine when you return - sign up for your classes that following week and ease back into things. You may be a little sore at first but you'll bounce back quickly!

All that in mind, vacation doesn't need to be a time when you completely abandon your healthy habits. You already know you feel your best when you're getting some moderate exercise and eating nutritiously, so plan ahead to get some movement in and to enjoy some healthy meals alongside any indulgences. Take advantage of being in a new place or with extra time on your hands to try something new! Maybe a long bikeride, swimming, or a yoga class. And order those tasty meals while ensuring you're still consuming some veggies and protein along the way.

Finally, plan some activites that don't involve eating and drinking, like some sight-seeing or a day at the spa. Build some relaxation time into your week so that your busy mind gets a little rest and you can return to your regular schedule with more peace of mind.
